Privacy Policy
Close Stations helps you see nearby Transport for London (TfL) stations and walking times from a UK property listing map pin (Rightmove, Zoopla, or OnTheMarket). This policy explains what data the Chrome extension and related web app use.
What we access
- When you open the extension on a supported listing page, it reads the map pin coordinates (latitude and longitude) from that page. It does not read your account details, saved searches, or other personal listing data.
- Those coordinates are used to look up nearby stations, walking routes, and an optional reverse-geocoded address label. If you override the address in the popup, the text you enter is forward-geocoded so stations can be recalculated from that location instead.
What we send to third parties
- Transport for London (api.tfl.gov.uk) โ nearby stop search and walking journey results.
- OpenStreetMap Nominatim (nominatim.openstreetmap.org) โ reverse geocoding of the pin, and forward geocoding when you override the address. Coordinates used for the lookup remain the source of truth for distances; the address label is for display and override input.
Requests are made directly from your browser. We do not operate a backend that receives or stores your coordinates.
What we store
-
Optionally, a TfL API key and app ID you enter in the extension popup.
These are saved in
chrome.storage.syncon your device (and may sync with your Chrome profile). They are sent only to TfL as API credentials. - We do not create accounts, sell data, or store browsing history, listing content, or personal property details.
Permissions
The extension uses activeTab, storage, and
scripting, plus host access limited to the listing sites
above and the TfL / Nominatim APIs, solely for the features described
here.
